Data protection statement
We take the protection of personal data very seriously and want you to feel safe when you browse our internet sites. We process personal data arising from visits to our websites in accordance with the legal provisions, particularly with the German Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG).
How do we process personal data?
At some points during your web presence, we offer you the opportunity to get in touch with us or to make use of certain services (e.g. newsletter subscription). The personal data which you provide us with here will only be used for the sole purpose for which you have given us permission. Your data will not be passed on to third parties.
What is personal data?
Personal data consists of that information which makes the identification of an individual possible. Specifically, this includes your real name, address and telephone number. Information through which a connection with your real identity cannot be made (e.g. preferred websites or number of users of a site) are not personal data. (For more information on this, also see below: "will data be logged when I visit your site?“)
Which data is requested?
If, on any of our websites, there is the option of entering personal or business data (email addresses, name, postal addresses), the provision of this data is purely voluntary on the user's part. The use of all services offered is – insofar as this is technically possible and reasonable – also available without the provision of such data or with the use of anonymised data or a pseudonym. By entering the correct information with regards to the optional data, however, you enable us to look after you personally and individually.
Is the confidentiality of email traffic/contact form guaranteed?
If you would like to contact us by email or using our contact form, we wish to point out that the confidentiality of the transferred information cannot be guaranteed under all circumstances. The content of the email can be seen by third parties. We, therefore, recommend that any confidential information be sent exclusively by post.
Will data be logged when I visit your site?
Each time a user accesses one of our websites and each time a file is requested, the following access data about this process is stored in a logfile on our server:
- IP address
- Page from which the file was requested
- Date, time
- Browser type and browser settings
- Operating system
- Site you visited
- Amount of data transferred
- Access status (file transferred, file not found etc.)
These data enable us to generate statistics that help us to further adapt our internet presence to your needs. You can only be identified from this if you register on our site directly or if you access our site from another personalised site. The passing on of even partial data to third parties will never, however, take place.
Do you use 'cookies'?
We employ session cookies on our website. This data is not permanently stored. The use of time-limited cookies provides you with the advantage that you do not have to repeatedly enter your personal data everytime you complete a form on one of our websites: when you close your browser, the cookies are automatically deleted.
Most browsers are set up in such a way that they automatically accept cookies. You can, however, deactivate the storing of cookies or change your browser settings so that you receive a message every time cookies are sent.
If you have deactivated cookies, a so-called session ID serves to identify a person during uninterrupted access to our website. No data will be stored on your computer. The session ID will be deleted again once you have finished your session.
Can I influence the use of my data?
Of course, you have the sole right to decide whether and for which purposes your data can be used. You have the option of receiving a newsletter, for example, but you can unsubscribe at any time. Usually, at the end of the newsletter, a link appears for this purpose which enables a simple cancellation of your subscription. Furthermore, whether or not we use your data for advisory, advertising or market research purposes is up to you and nobody else. Here too, you can, of course, withdraw previously given permission.
Do you pass my data on to third parties?
Personal data are only used by us for internal purposes as part of customer relations. For personal data to be passed on to third parties your consent is required. Elicitation of personal data as well as the passing on of this data to legally entitled state institutions and authorities can only occur within the respective laws or if we are obliged to do so by a court order. All our staff and service companies are bound to secrecy and adherence to the data protection provisions.
How can I check, correct or delete my data?
According to § 34 and § 6b BDSG users have the right to receive information on stored personal data about them free of charge. In addition, as stipulated by the legal provisions, users also have the right to correction, blocking and deletion of these personal data. Contact us directly in any such case.
Will this data protection statement also be changed?
Due to current conditions, such as an amendment of the German Data Protection Act (BDSG), we will – if necessary – update this data protection statement.
